Blackwell's Tea Room is the perfect place to dine with wine. Visit this little gem and enjoy light lunches, hot meals, or home baked treats.

Eat inside or out on our wonderul terraces. If you go al fresco don't be suprised to be joined by a Blackwell robin.

These cheeky and bold birds sing as you relax with fabulous food and take-in fabulous views over Winderemere.

While eating outside, stretch your legs in our beautiful garden where you can play croquet.

You can even be joined outside by your four-legged family members.

Blackwell’s Tea Room is situated in the old kitchen and scullery. The original fire places can still be seen in this bright and welcoming space.

Opening Times: Open every day 10:00am to 5:00pm (summer) and 10:00am to 4:00pm (winter). Hot meals are served noon until 3pm.

Enjoy the best Lakeland produce:

All of our bread, cakes and sweet treats are baked fresh each morning by our own chefs, who wake with the birds to prepare cakes, brownies, florentines and fruit scones.

We work with local producers and suppliers to ensure only the best Lakeland produce is used in our recipes. Seasonal menus reflect the finest foods from the Cumbrian culinary calendar. Our spring menu (attached below) offers light lunches from duck and pear salad and stew of the day.

Why not pair Stew of the Day with a bottle of Windermere Pale Ale for £9? Or tuck into an open sandwch of Melted Brie with Hot Sautéed Mushrooms or Grilled Tomato? (£6.50).

Catering for every diet:

We have gluten free and vegetarian meals available. Our Duck and Pear Salad is gluten free as is our Florentine. We also have vegetarian starter and main - the wonderful Homemade Rep Pepper Hummmus with Tomato, Cucumber and Red Onion. 

For little ones:

We have a special children's menu offering soups, cheese or beans on toast, sandwiches, Blackwell pizza.

Do I need to book?

No need to book. We only take bookings for groups of 12 or more. 

Can my dog come inside?

Sorry, only assistance dogs are allowed anywhere inside, including the Tea Room and House. They are welcome on leads to join you int the gardens and terraces outside.

Can I eat my own picnic in the garden?

No. We request that only food bought on site is consumed anywhere on site.

Do you do takeaway?

We can do any meal to takeaway upon request. We do hot drinks and soup to take away too.

Is Blackwell Tea Room child friendly?

Absolutely! We have a children's menu and love to welcome little ones.

Is the Tea Room accessible?

Yes. The Tea Room is located on the ground floor and is accessible for people using wheelchairs.

What is the last time to order food and drink?

Relax. During the summer we are open until 5pm. Hot meals are served until 3pm. 

You can still get cakes, drinks and treats until closing time.
