The inviting Tea Room offers quality, locally-sourced Cumbrian produce. There is plenty to choose from with a menu of freshly prepared lunches, delicious homemade cakes, alcoholic drinks, teas and coffees.

Blackwell’s Tea Room is situated in the old kitchen and scullery. The original fire places can still be seen in this bright and welcoming space.
You can add a little fizz to your lunch with our range of beers, prosecco and wines, or just sit and soak up the atmosphere over a pot of Lakeland tea.
Catering for every diet
We aim to cater to all dietary requirements and we have gluten free, vegetarian and vegan meals available. Please contact us if you have any special requests.
For little ones
We have a special children’s menu offering soups, cheese or beans on toast, sandwiches or smaller portions from the main menu.
Feel at ease when you visit with little ones. High chairs, colouring-in, baby food warming and changing facilities are all available.
What is the last time to order food and drink?
Relax. During the summer we are open until 5.00pm and until 4.00pm in November to March. Hot meals are served until 3.00pm but you can still get cakes, drinks and treats until closing time.
Do I need to book?
No need to book. We only take bookings for groups of 12 or more.
Can I see the lake from the Tea Room?
There is a window that faces out over the lake next to a table for two, but the best views are enjoyed from the outside terrace.
Can my dog come inside?
Sorry, only assistance dogs are allowed inside, including the Tea Room and house. They are welcome on leads to join you in the gardens and terraces outside.
Can I eat my own picnic in the garden?
No. We request that only food bought on site is consumed anywhere on site.
Do you do takeaway?
We can do any meal to takeaway upon request. We do hot drinks and soup to take away too.
Is the Tea Room child friendly?
Absolutely! We have a children’s menu and high chairs and love to welcome little ones.
Is the Tea Room accessible?
Yes. The Tea Room is located on the ground floor and is accessible for people using wheelchairs.
Can I visit the Tea Room or Craft Shop without paying house admission?
Yes, you’re more than welcome to do this. Come in through the Tea Room entrance door or via the main entrance.
