Since the opening of Blackwell in 2001, the Trust has welcomed over three quarters of a million visitors into Abbot Hall Art Gallery, Blackwell and the Museum of Lakeland Life and Industry. Each year, the majority of our funding comes from these visitors and the support of individuals, trusts, foundations and corporations to help us continue to care for two grade I listed buildings, develop our collections and engage with children and young people, families and older people.
Each gift you make, at every level, will have a direct impact on our work.
Friends of the Lakeland Arts Trust
Here’s what you’ll enjoy with your Friends Membership: Free entry to Abbot Hall Art Gallery, Blackwell, The Arts & Crafts House and the Museum of Lakeland Life & Industry. You will receive personal invitations to Private Views of all our major exhibitions at Abbot Hall and Blackwell. Our Friends are kept up to date with our new forthcoming exhibitions, with regular mailings and email newsletters. You will get advanced notice of concerts and lectures, as well as a discount on tickets. As a Friend of the Lakeland Arts Trust you also get the option to pay for your membership by Direct Debit and receive a discount of £3.00.

Windermere Steamboat Museum
We have a unique opportunity to create a world-class Museum to ensure the future of the nationally significant collection of boats which are all associated with Windermere. We are seeking to raise £2.5m by December 2012 to secure investment for Cumbria of £7.4m from the Heritage Lottery Fund. We received a round one pass for the HLF in 2011 and initial support for our application.
