Blackwell is managed by an independent charitable trust, which relies on admissions, donations, bequests and retail activities to fund the running of both Blackwell and Abbot Hall Art Gallery in Kendal. By becoming a Friend of the Lakeland Arts Trust your contribution goes directly to the Trust helping towards the purchase of works of art for the growing collection and funding educational activities.

Membership runs for the calendar year. For membership starting in January 2008, rates are listed below.

£35 per year (Adult)

£49.50 per year (Joint - two people living at the same address)

£16.50 per year (Under 18's)

£70 per year (Family - upto 2 adults and 4 children under 18 living at the same address)
