ABBOT HALL ART GALLERY & MUSEUM OF LAKELAND LIFE
Abbot Hall Art Gallery has a fine collection of watercolors by Ruskin, which are displayed on a rotational basis. The adjacent museum houses furniture by Simpsons of Kendal and examples of Ruskin Lace and Langdale Linen as well as items from Annie Garnett's spinnery. THE ARMITT LIBRARY AND MUSEUM
Ambleside. Houses a large collection of books about Cumbria and its history, also displays examples of Ruskin lace, Langdale Linen and paintings by W. G Collingwood and John Ruskin. Library open Mon-Fri 10am- 4pm (closed for lunch 12.30pm- 1.30pm), Museum open daily 10am -5pm. Tel 015394 31212

KESWICK MUSEUM

Keswick. Built in 1897 by Thomas Hodgson in the Arts and Crafts manner. Contains work by the Keswick School of Industrial Arts.

TULLIE HOUSE MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY
Carlisle. The museum has collections of works by Burne-Jones, D.G. Rossetti and other members of the Pre-Raphaelite circle. Embroidery designs by William Morris and ceramics by William De Morgan are on display with works by the Keswick School of Industrial Arts and A.W. Simpson.
