David Nash: Sculpture Installations

11 May - 10 October 2009

Since the opening of Blackwell in 2001 it has been envisaged that artists would be invited to respond to the house and its breathtaking landscape by creating sculptures for the lawns. Black Dome by the artist David Nash signals the start of a series of sculptures in the coming years to be sited on the lawns if funds can be found. Black Dome comprises over 70 pieces of carved and burnt oak columns. A further three sculptures, Red Dome, Birch Crack and Warp Column and Small Egg and Hollowed Space, are on view inside the house from 6 July - 10 October.
